There is something to the idea that we receive the energy we put out into the universe, and that theory applies to your office. For the traditional environment – i.e. an office you walk into every morning – walk in grinning, even if you’re faking it. Try to make it look genuine, and you may even notice it affect on not only your own mood, but the moods of others. Make eye contact and smile with folks you see on the way to your desk, and repeat as you leave. Even if you work from coffee shops or your own home, doing things like smiling while you make breakfast or while on the phone can help. This is especially important on bad days.
