Go Ahead, Brag a Bit:
If you’ve implemented a more effective way of doing things in the office, make sure you receive due credit. If you helped train a new employee after hours, mention it to your boss. If you have landed more sales than any other employee, don’t let it go unnoticed. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being proud of your accomplishments at work, as long as you don’t allow them to your head and make you a braggart. Particularly in instances in which people work for very large companies when individual achievements are harder for supervisors to track, it’s important you share what you’ve done for the company with those who have the power to reward you. Similarly, if you work from home with very little oversight, send whoever is signing your paychecks monthly status updates to show the progress that’s been made.
